Louis gets lucky

-

LOUIS C.K. performed a 70-minute set in Paris on Tuesday, where he confirmed that he’s dating French comic Blanche Gardin. The disgraced comedian performed on a show called “New York Comedy Night” at Le Théâtre de L’Oeuvre, according to the Hollywood Reporter. He was slated to perform for just 20 minutes, according to the site, but did a whopping 70 minutes to a reportedly warm crowd. “I’ve been dating this woman, and she’s French,” he told the audience, adding that “any s - - tty American is welcome” in France. While the comedian — who has admitted to masturbating in front of several women without their consent — didn’t directly acknowledge his sexual misconduct, he did talk about the aftermath, reiterating yet again that he “lost $35 million in an hour” and that he “had a lot of trouble in the p.r. department.” Gardin reportedly watched C.K.’s set from a balcony. The couple were spotted holding hands in October in photos published by People. At the César Awards in March (France’s equivalent of the Oscars), Gardin wore a pin with C.K.’s face on it while performing a sketch about Time’s Up and the #MeToo movement against sexual harassment in Hollywood. In November 2017, several women, some of whom worked with C.K., accused him of masturbating in front of them in a bombshell New York Times story. He started performing stand-up in clubs again beginning in August, but comedians and audiences have had mixed responses to his comeback attempt. In October, protesters picketed a C.K. comedy gig at the famed Comedy Cellar in Greenwich Village. One protester held a sign that said, “When you support Louis C.K., you tell women that your laughter is more important than their sexual assaults and loss of their careers.”
