Bubba’s New Best Bud: AG Who’ll Decide Hill’s Fate
Attorney General Loretta Lynch met with former President Bill Clinton on a private plane for 30 minutes (“Bubba, That Ain’t Gonna Fly,” July 1).
Supposedly discussed were their grandchildren.
Lynch should know better than to meet with the husband of a woman who is under criminal investigation.
Judges tell jurors not to discuss cases with anyone. This meeting was totally inappropriate.
And, wow, 48 hours later, the State Department announced it’s delaying the release of Hillary’s e-mails for 27 months.
So much for the grandchildren conversation.
This is just further proof of the deceit and arrogance of the Obama administration. What a shame. Patrick Abbruzzi Staten Island
I’m a lifelong Democrat, and I can tell you it’s beyond crazy that Bill chatted with Lynch.
It’s enough to remove her as attorney general because it shows she doesn’t even have a shred of ethics.
Both Democratic and Republican prosecutors will tell you that this meeting was inappropriate. For example, if the FBI is spending every Christmas with the family of John Gotti, it means corruption is going on.
And if she had a drop of ethics, she’d have gotten an independent prosecutor for ServerGate. Shauna Erlbaum Manhattan
Lynch has totally discredited any idea that there isn’t a conflict of interest regarding the possible indictment of Hillary. Lynch would have us all believe pigs fly. Hugo Bozzarella Yonkers
Did you hear the joke about the disbarred former president whose wife is under investigation by the FBI for an email scandal and the attorney general whose Department of Justice is overseeing the investigation “coincidentally” meeting at the same airport and quietly spending some quality time together discussing grandchildren and their travels?
I didn’t think it was funny, either, but what’s most impressive is that Lynch managed to say it with a straight face. Joe Alloy Wayne, NJ
It’s becoming harder and harder not to believe that the fix is in for Hillary.
If Donald Trump, a Republican attorney general and a former Republican president were substituted for this cast of characters, it would be front-page news.
This is disgraceful and unacceptable and represents a dangerous double standard. Ed Quinlan New Hyde Park
The good news is that it’s obvious Bill wasn’t having an extramarital affair with Lynch.
The bad news is that it looked like Clinton was interfering in his wife’s FBI investigation. Kenneth Zimmerman Huntington Beach, Calif.
The Clinton-Lynch meeting went far beyond what’s considered an “appearance of impropriety.”
And people say it was an innocuous exchange. Give me a break. The Clintons and Lynch have been political associates.
Sadly, this meeting illustrates the abject stupidity possessed by those who find themselves in national leadership roles in today’s government, law enforcement and politics.
The only way to handle this is to appoint a special independent prosecutor. Earl Beal Terre Haute, Ind.
