Bargnani gets back on court

- By TIM BONTEMPS

After sitting out for a week with a tight left hamstring, Andrea Bargnani took a half step toward returning Monday.

The 7footer participated in the first half of the team’s practice — his first time on the court since being ruled out prior to the Nets’ preseason opener a week earlier — and said he felt good afterward.

“Every day we’re doing more and more, and see how it feels,” Bargnani said. “We’re taking it daybyday, basically.”

NETS NOTES

Muscular injuries are nothing new for Bargnani, who missed 49 of the first 51 games last season because of hamstring and calf injuries. He played just 71 of a possible 164 games the past two seasons with the Knicks.

He made it through his summer stint with the Italian National Team, as well as the first week of training camp, without incident before the tight hamstring.

“I want to play every practice and in every game. I just have to be cautious until I can get back 100 percent,” he said.

Nets coach Lionel Hollins has said he wants to see the pairing of Bargnani and Brook Lopez, and has praised Bargnani, the 2006 No. 1 overall pick, for his ability to score and space the floor offensively.

Bargnani wasn’t the only Net to do more Monday, as the team’s long injury list finally began to trim down.

Willie Reed, who suffered a right quad strain on the first day of training camp two weeks ago, practiced fully for the first time since — presumably putting him in line to make his preseason debut Wednesday against Boston.

Also making a return to full prac

tice was Bojan Bogdanovic, who struggled in the opener before sitting out the rest of last week with a sore right ankle.

Thomas Robinson also participated in the noncontact portions of practice after suffering a right wrist sprain during the preseason opener and sitting out the rest of the week. Markel Brown (left oblique strain) and Chris McCullough (knee rehab) remained out, as did rookie Rondae HollisJefferson, who sprained his right ankle in Saturday’s loss to Philadelphia. He was doing some shooting, while standing still, when the media was allowed into practice, though, and wasn’t wearing any kind of boot or brace on his foot.
