Workers hit Disney exec as sexual harasser

A TOP DISNEY executive has been accused of sexual harassment and lewd behavior by former employees.

Thomas Schumacher, president of Disney Theatrical Productions who’s been with the company since 1988, has been accused by two ex-employees of making inappropriate remarks and discussing pornography, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The allegations reported Wednesday came one day before Broadway previews begin for “Frozen,” the latest in a line of Disney musical productions including “The Lion King” and “Aladdin” overseen by Schumacher.

The former employees told the Journal that Schumacher offended numerous staffers over the years with “explicit language and behavior, including comments about subordinates’ sexual attractiveness, discussions about pornography and walking through the office in a bathrobe while boasting he had nothing on underneath.”

Former employee Bruce Williams worked in a Disney story-development department in 1994 run by Schumacher.

He alleged that Schumacher made uninvited advances and “salacious and inappropriate” comments that included “compliments” on his rear end.

Williams said he blames Schumacher and Disney for his struggle with depression. “I never felt the same about a workplace again,” he said. Another former employee, Jane Buchanan, reported to Disney that Schumacher used inappropriate language while she worked for him in 2006. Schumacher (photo), 60, joined Disney in 1988 and has risen to one of its highestranking positions. He is also the head of The Broadway League — the national trade association for the theatre industry based in New York.

Disney, Schumacher and the Broadway League did not respond to Daily News requests for comment.

Schumacher denied the allegations against him to the Journal through an associated, the newspaper reported.

A Disney spokesperson told the Journal that “complaints are thoroughly investigated and appropriate action is taken” at the company.

The accusations against Schumacher come three months after Pixar and Disney Animation head John Lasseter announced a leave of absence following claims of misconduct against him.

“Frozen,” reportedly a $50 million production, is still set to begin previews on Thursday.
