A FEROCIOUS fight over a feline turned fatal after a catcrazed Brooklyn woman violently attacked her own mother, cops said on Tuesday.

Barbara Kirby, 67, went into cardiac arrest and was brain dead after her daughter Chandra Sutton pummeled her inside her Snyder Ave. home in East Flatbush on Saturday, family members told the Daily News. Kirby died on Monday. “It’s horrific. It was no accident. Her daughter killed her, fighting over some nonsense. Fighting over stupidness,” said victim Barbara Kirby’s 60-yearold sister, her face wet with tears.

Sutton, 50, was drinking before she flew into her deadly rage at 10:15 p.m. on Saturday, relatives said.

Her mother allegedly tried to calm her down, but Sutton bashed her in the head with a glass object.

Kirby’s husband heard his wife scream and ran into the bedroom, where he found her sprawled out on the floor, with a deep cut above her left eye, family members said.

The furniture in the room was tossed around and Sutton was allegedly standing above her mother.

“My sister’s laying down on the ground and (Sutton’s) telling her, ‘Get the F up! Ain’t nothing wrong with you!’” said Kirby’s sister — who asked not to be named. “(My sister) was bleeding from her head and she’s hitting her on her chest. It’s just a mess.”

Family members tell The News that Sutton was livid after being told her aunt was not going to take in her big, beloved gray cat Grayson, because she is allergic.

Sutton managed to smuggle the feline in tothe home on Troy Ave. anyway, according to her uncle, Willie Logan.

“(Sutton) wasn’t living here, but she wanted the cat to stay here,” Logan, 68, said. “The cat is a no-no because (my sister) is asthmatic.”

Kirby’s heartbroken family members decided to have doctors at Kings County Hospital shut off the machines that were keeping her alive.

“I’m just too distraught (to speak),” Kirby’s son Derrick Sutton told The News Tuesday. “It’s too much. I love my mother. She did not deserve to die.”

Chandra Sutton was arrested and charged with assault on Sunday and is being held on $15,000 bail. Charges are expected to be upgraded to murder at her next court appearance, law enforcement sources said.

Sutton has more than 70 arrests, authorities said. Her crimes range from prostitution to turnstile jumping, resisting arrest and obstructing government administration.

The cat at the center of the conflict is now being cared for by a friend of a tenant in Sutton’s aunt’s building.

“A cat. Just a regular cat,” Logan said in disbelief. “There was no reason for this whole thing to happen.”
