‘ACCESS TO QUALITY CARE’
Alma surgical center gets $15,000 boost from Gratiot Community Foundation
Mymichigan Health Foundation has received a $15,000 grant from the Gratiot County Community Foundation to support the advanced surgical services project at Mymichigan Medical Center Alma.
“We are pleased to support a project that will have such a positive impact on the lives of so many people in the immediate and long-term,” said Chelsea Holmes Matz, executive director of the Gratiot County Community Foundation.
“Through Mymichigan Health, residents of Gratiot County and surrounding areas have access to quality care.
We value their vision by unanimously supporting this project and keeping care close to home for our community.”
Mymichigan Medical Center Alma has continually advanced health care capabilities for central Michigan residents by attracting some of the best and brightest minds in medicine, renovating infrastructure and patient care areas, and acquiring the latest technology to ensure that advanced treatments and procedures are available close to home.
The 51,200 square-foot surgical services renovation in Alma will further the health care advancement by improving the Surgical Services Department to create a more comfortable environment for patients and their families, while also introducing state-of-the-art surgical suites, procedure rooms and more.
The Gratiot County Community Foundation has always supported the community in many ways, along with grants to the Mymichigan Health Foundation.
However, this donation for the Alma Surgical Services Project has been their largest.
“We are delighted to receive the support of the Gratiot County Community Foundation, as well as their continued commitment, guidance, and passion for providing nothing less than the best to our patients,” said Marita Hattem-schiffman, F.A.C.H.E., C.P.M.S.M., president, Mymichigan Medical Centers in Alma, Clare, Mt. Pleasant.
“Patients and their families expect, demand and deserve excellent delivery of care and the Gratiot County Community Foundation continues to help ensure that.”
