Kenosha’s human suction cup competing on TBS’ new ‘Go-Big Show’

- Chris Foran

Jamie “Can Head” Keeton, the Kenosha man whose unusual condition has led to scores of appearances as a human suction cup, will bring his magnetic personality to “Go-Big Show,” an extreme-competition show premiering at 8 p.m. Jan. 7 on TBS.

Keeton’s skin apparently sucks in more oxygen than the average person’s, so when nonporous objects — like cans — touch his skin, they stick as if by suction.

“I was at a ball game drinking soda pop, when suddenly I reached up to catch a stray ball. After that I looked around and was like, ‘Where’s my drink?’ “Keeton told the Journal Sentinel in a 2018 interview. “And then I realized the can was stuck to the back of my head. It was stuck so hard that it took five minutes to pull off.”

Keeton has made a number of television appearances, including “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” and “The Late Late Show With James Corden.”

But “Go-Big Show” is a different kind of TV.

Extreme-talent acts from rattlesnake wrestlers and stunt riders to stunt archers and, well, human suction cups compete in a high-energy setting for the show’s top prize of $100,000. Bert Kreischer hosts, with a panel of celebrity judges including Snoop Dogg, Rosario Dawson, Jennifer Nettles and Cody Rhodes.

In a nod to the pandemic, the show was produced at the Macon Coliseum in Georgia, under COVID-19 safety protocols, including social distancing and isolating contestants for the duration of the competition. The show airs on Thursdays at 8 p.m. starting Jan. 7.
