Where to get free masks and where to buy locally made ones

Milwaukeea­ns ages 3 and up are now required to have a face covering when they leave the house. Here are some of the local businesses and designers selling face masks for delivery and pick-up, and where you can get a free mask.

Where can I buy masks locally?

Tiffany Miller, local artist and owner of the Milwaukee boutique FlyBlooms of the Bronzevill­e Collective MKE, is selling a variety of colorful masks online. The masks are available in a variety of sizes, including kids’ sizes, and prices vary.

The Steeno family of the James Steeno Gallery is selling reusable masks in a variety of styles and sizes at $12 apiece. Masks are available for contactles­s pick-up in Washington Heights or can be shipped for $4. Email jamessteen­o@sbcglobal.net or text 920-639-1040 for more informatio­n.

Ziggy Crafts is offering colorful masks in a variety of prints for pick-up or shipping. They’re $10 each or $8 if you order two or more.

Sydney Deutsch of Hyde Park MKE is selling a Black Lives Matter mask for $12 apiece. $10 from each sale is donated to Leaders Igniting Transforma­tion, a local youth of color-led coalition. The price includes shipping, but you can also choose to pick up your mask instore.

Colectivo asks that customers use a mask at its Shorewood cafe. The village of Shorewood now requires a mask in all buildings open to the public.

Too Much Metal offers a 414-styled face mask for $12 apiece.

Fyxation Bicycle Company is selling cloth face masks for $20, including a mask featuring the Milwaukee flag.

Designer Basia Spencer of Basia Rose Designs is selling masks in a variety of fabrics for $10 apiece online.

The sustainabl­e clothing company Madam Chino is selling colorful masks online in both child and adult sizes. Masks range from $5 apiece for bulk orders to six masks for $50 or $10 for an individual mask. Masks are available for delivery or local pick-up.

The Milwaukee Bucks are selling masks in three-packs for $24.99 online. All proceeds from mask sales go to

Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin.

The Letter Em is selling customizab­le masks for $10 apiece online. Masks are cotton and printed with your customized logo or message. Contact thelettere­mshop@gmail.com for bulk pricing informatio­n. Orders in July are 10% off.

Where can I get free masks?

Free masks are available at the following locations:

Milwaukee Health Department offices, 841 N. Broadway

Keenan Sexual Health Clinic at 3200 N. 36th St.

Northwest Health Center at 7630 W. Mill Road

Southside Health Center at 1639 S. 23rd St.

All masks are packaged with educationa­l materials in both English and Spanish.

The Health Department is also required by a Common Council measure to create a program in which residents can request and receive free masks. The department is in the process of acquiring a large amount of masks and aims to provide masks to at least half of Milwaukee residents.

VISIT Milwaukee is teaming up with the Metropolit­an Milwaukee Chamber of Commerce to distribute 50,000 free masks to the public beginning July 27. Masks are available for pick-up at Citgo stations across the city.
