Born on 08/27/1942, in Kingston, Jamaica to Wong Kee Foo and Lillian MacCallum, Elsa, married on 03/05/1961, was the beloved wife to her soulmate, Trevor Chang; a devoted sister to Pauline, Yvonne, and Danny (Vivienne); and loving mother to Michelle Levine (Eric), Nichole Chang, Trudy-Ann Rabley (Peter), Corey Chang (Cheryl), and Stacey-Lee D’Alessi (Alessandro). She was the best grandma to her grandchildren Emma, Luca, Matthew, Nicholas, Cristian,

Benjamin, Elise, and Helen. At occasional gatherings with dear friends, she was always the source of animated storytelling and mischievous laughter.

Elsa, a self-taught bookkeeper for her father’s general store, honed her skills to become an accountant for various banks and businesses. Her passion for cooking led her to enroll at The Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale sharing her natural gift for the culinary arts, creating dishes infused with her rich heritage, and never from a cookbook or use of a measuring cup, much to the delight of her chef instructor and peers during tastings.

Her life was a testament to resiliency, grace, and humor possessing a remarkably sharp wit and an infectious laugh turning ordinary moments into unforgettable memories. For those having the privilege of knowing Elsa, we are graced with these fond memories of her that is our blessing we shall carry with us always.

In honor of Elsa’s memory and struggle with Alzheimer’s, please consider donating to the Alzheimer’s Association to support efforts to find a cure for this devastating illness.
