Kang wins second LPGA event in row as Ko flops on last hole

Five shots behind with six holes to play, Danielle Kang won her second consecutiv­e LPGA Tour event on Sunday when Lydia Ko took double bogey on the final hole in the Marathon Classic at Sylvania, Ohio.

Kang began her rally with consecutiv­e birdies on the 13th and 14th holes at Highland Meadows, and then all she needed were pars the rest of the way for a 3-under 68, all because of Ko’s shocking collapse.

Jodi Ewart Shadoff ,in contention for the second straight week but still without an LPGA victory, played bogey-free after the opening hole for a 67. She wound up in a tie for second with Ko.

Soccer: Brazil forward Willian used his 32nd birthday to announce that the “time has now come” to leave Chelsea. Willian is out of contract following a sevenyear stay at Stamford Bridge amid repeated media reports of a free transfer switch to London rivals Arsenal. Willian has reportedly also received a lucrative offer from Inter Miami.

NFL: The NFL Referees Associatio­n has reached an agreement with the league for health protection­s along with a program allowing game and replay officials to opt out of the season. Members will review the details Monday in a video conference call.
