Noel Woman’s Club News

The January 2020 meeting of the Noel Woman’s Club was called to order by vice president Vicki Barth. The pledge of allegiance and Lord’s Prayer were recited. Roll call was answered by 10 members, and we also had one guest. Minutes of the November and December meetings were read with one correction. Barb Ittner took notes of the meeting while Debbie Powell, secretary, is recuperating.

The treasurer’s report was given by Bonnie Leonard.

A thank you card was read from the Scaggs Family for the card that was sent when Marsha passed. A Christmas card was also read from Arvest Bank.

Vicki distributed the notebook updates for 2020. Dues for 2020 are now due from members and anyone interested in becoming a member.

Club members voted on donations for the month.

Members were asked to bring four dozen cookies each to our meeting in February. Members will then bag cookies as Valentine treats for home-bound seniors.

Linda Jefferson, the club historian, brought the updated book she has been keeping on club activities. She has done a wonderful job with it.

The Woman’s Club had an entry in the Noel Christmas parade, which won the class prize. The fancy ribbon was on display, as well as, the $5 gift certificate to Poppy’s Donuts. Linda will use the certificate to buy donuts for our next meeting. Those riding in the parade were Linda Jefferson and Vicki Barth.

Due to the illness of Dot Harner, Bonnie Leonard was our hostess for this meeting. She served delicious sandwiches, chips, dip, fruit and cake.

This month’s program was a demonstration by Vicki Barth on how to make a candy bouquet in a coffee mug for Valentine’s Day.

The next meeting will be held Tuesday, Feb. 11, and the hostesses are Barb Ittner and Haylie Lance. This meeting will be the club’s Valentine party.
