The ARC Shop: Meeting the area’s welding needs since 1992

- By Sarah Haney

The ARC Shop, located in Exeter, Mo., has been serving the welding needs of the area for 25 years.

“We’ve been here since 1992,” stated owner Raymond Vanzandt. “The factory I worked at moved to Cincinnati, Ohio, and it was either go on unemployment or start the ARC Shop and I thought that I should try to have my own welding shop.” The ARC Shop started out doing folding hitches for trailers and various things, and it spread from there. “We cater to the farmers and take care of their needs,” noted Vanzandt.

In addition to being a HydraBed dealer, the ARC Shop does a lot of trailer repairs (flatbed trailers, stock trailers), wiring and lighting repair, and trailer brakes repair. “We also build hand railings and other things for some of the commercial business’ in the area,” added Vanzandt. “We will fabricate parts for some of the factories in Northwest Arkansas, as well.”

“There’s not really anybody else in the area that does what we do. We try to meet the farmers’ needs and help them so their operations aren’t shut down,” said Vanzandt.

The ARC Shop serves as one of the top five HydraBed dealers in the area. HydraBeds are a fully integrated bale handler that equips your 3/4 ton or larger truck for ranch and farm use. The flush-mounted, live-hydraulic powered bale handler is totally integrated into the rugged flatbed. Winter feeding, summer hay hauling, year-round trailer towing and many other lifting, hauling and towing tasks are easily accomplished from the comfort and safety of your truck cab. Fingertip hydraulic controls enable you to haul, transport and/or unroll two large round or square bales weighing up to 3,000 pounds each. The HydraBed, introduced in 1983, was the first flushmount, self-storing flatbed bale handler. Cattlemen and women all across Northwest Arkansas have come to appreciate the durability, ease of operation, and dependability of HydraBeds.

Customer satisfaction plays a big role in the success of the ARC Shop. “I enjoy seeing a happy customer leave us from work we’ve done well,” stated Vanzandt.
