Is more Christmas cheer in store for Bethany Joy Lenz?

- BY JAY BOBBIN

Q: I enjoyed Bethany Joy Lenz’s recent movie “Savoring Paris.” Will she be doing another holiday film this year as well? – Lisa Haley, Dayton, Ohio

A: Nothing was definite about that as of this writing, but the “One Tree Hill” alum has shown many times that she isn’t averse to telling seasonal stories. Not only was that proven last year by Hallmark Channel’s “A

Biltmore Christmas,” but also before that by “Five Star Christmas” (2020), “An Unexpected Christmas” (2021), “Snowed-inn Christmas” (2017) “Poinsettias for Christmas” (2018) and “The Christmas Secret” (2014) … so it’s pretty clear that if she finds a yuletide-relevant script that she likes, she’s game.

In 2023, Lenz filmed “A Biltmore Christmas” at the title estate at the start of the year, so that the production could take advantage of the decorations that were still up. However, other holiday cable movies have been made as late as the preceding October, so they really can go before the cameras at any time. Thus, Lenz still has a few months to be approached about doing work for the coming holiday season.

Lenz has said that she’d like to have an on-screen reunion with James Lafferty, who played Nathan to her Haley in “One Tree

Hill,” so if something came along to entice them both, that surely would be a deal-sweetener for her. She has also mentioned her interest in reteaming with Andrew Walker, her leading man in “Snowed-inn Christmas” and “Bottled With Love” (2019), so that also could be a lure for her for purposes of another Christmas film.
