Qingdao Hisense launched the world’s 1st dual cell LCD TV
Hisense has recently launched the world’s 1st dual cell LCD TV in Beijing, which brings the display quality of LCD TV to star-watching level with two display screens.
Different from common LCD TVs that have one display screen; dual cell LCD TVs have two overlapped display screens. Liu Weidong, the chief scientist of Hisense, introduced that the two display screens have their own different functions. The upper layer color screen focuses on precision color control to re-display the color, while the lower layer B/W screen focuses on precision light control to present high contrast and details in dark scenario.
It was also introduced that dual cell LCD TVs are the one in the industry using 5 chips to facilitate high efficient synergetic control of backlight layer, light control layer, and image layer. With light control via sub pixel, it enhances the static contrast of LCD TVs from 10,000 in maximum in the past to 100,000, which makes the TV show the most real and exquisite color and gradations. It can be called as star-watching level display.
Inspection data of the China National Inspection Center revealed in the event shows the contrast, the core indicator of display quality of the dual cell LCD TV, reaches 150,000:1, far more than OLED TV.
Key technologies of the dual cell LCD TVs, from display screen to chip, are all owned by Chinese companies. Hisense and BOE cooperated on tech development and overcame many tech difficulties. It not only opens a new room for improving display quality of LCD TV, but also marks that a Chinese company has become a fore runner in global display technology development.
