Top seed Stephens upset at Citi Open

Rebecca Peterson of Sweden upset top-seeded Sloane Stephens in straight sets 6-2, 7-5, in the first round of the Citi Open in Washington. The hard-court tournament serves as a tune-up for the U.S. Open. Stephens was coming off a third-round loss at Wimbledon.
