Back injury shelves Carr

-

The Oakland Raiders will be without Derek Carr for two to six weeks after the quarterback suffered a back injury in Sunday’s 16-10 loss to the Denver Broncos.

Carr left the game at Denver late in the third quarter after being shaken up on a sack.

Carr was hit by defensive end Shelby Harris and was going down when defensive end Adam Gotsis f lew in and wrapped a padded arm between his helmet and shoulder pads.

Carr remained on the ground for several moments as team trainers and medical personnel came on to the field to tend to him.

He eventually was able to get up and walk off the field on his own power, holding his lower back.

Trubisky’s turn

The Chicago Bears are going to give prized rookie quarterback Mitchell Trubisky a try.

The No. 2 pick in this year’s draft will start against the Minnesota Vikings next Monday night after Mike Glennon struggled in the first four games, the Bears announced.

It’s hardly a surprise that the Bears (1-3) will go with Trubisky considering how badly Glennon has struggled. He has had five passes intercepted and lost three fumbles. In Thursday’s 35-14 loss at Green Bay, Glennon had two passes intercepted, lost a fumble on a sack and had a snap ricochet off his knee for a lost fumble.
