D’Antoni has deal to coach Rockets

The Houston Rockets have agreed to terms with former Lakers coach Mike D’Antoni on a fouryear deal to make him their new head coach, a person with knowledge of the situation told the Associated Press.

Miami Heat assistant David Fizdale has accepted the Memphis Grizzlies’ offer to be their next coach, a person familiar with the negotiatio­ns said. Fizdale replaces Dave Joerger, who was fired May 7 after three seasons and three playoff appearance­s.

Candace Parker scored 22 points, including two free throws with 7.8 seconds remaining, to help the Sparks beat the Connecticu­t Sun, 77-72 , at Uncasville, Conn.

Nneka Ogwumike had 11 points and 11 rebounds and Jantel Lavender scored eight of her 11 points in the second half for the Sparks (5-0).

Clippers center DeAndre Jordan was selected first team AllNBA for the first time, with teammate Chris Paul making the second team for a second consecutiv­e season. Jordan led the NBA in field-goal percentage (70.3) while ranking second in rebounds (13.8 per game) and blocks (2.3).

Jordan was joined on the first team by Golden State’s Stephen Curry, Cleveland’s LeBron James, Oklahoma City’s Russell Westbrook and San Antonio’s Kawhi Leonard.

Rounding out the second team were Oklahoma City’s Kevin Durant, Golden State’s Draymond Green, Portland’s Damian Lillard and Sacramento’s DeMarcus Cousins. —Ben Bolch

Bryce Molder birdied six of his last nine holes for a six-under 64 and a one-stroke lead after the first round at the Colonial Invitation­al in Fort Worth.

Patrick Reed, Anirban Lahiri and Webb Simpson shot 65. Jordan Spieth had a 67.

Rocco Mediate played the first 13 holes in nine under and closed with five pars for a 62 at the Senior PGA Championsh­ip to set records for the tournament and for the Harbor Shore course in Benton Harbor, Mich. Mediate matched the marks set by Kenny Perry in the 2012 final round.

Gene Sauers had a bogey-free 63. Mike Goodes shot 64, and Kenny Perry, Kirk Triplett and club pro John DalCorobbo were another stroke back.

Christina Kim shot an eightunder 64 to take the lead in the Volvik Championsh­ip in Ann Arbor, Mich. Ariya Jutanugarn, coming off consecutiv­e wins on the LPGA Tour, was a shot back.

Martin Truex Jr. won the pole for Sunday’s Coca-Cola 600 in Concord, N.C., NASCAR’s longest race of the year.
