Angels 9, San Francisco 5

- — Mike Digiovanna

AT THE PLATE: Mark Trumbo crushed a two-run home run to left-center in the fifth inning, Luis Jimenez added a two-run homer, and Eric Aybar, Jorge Cantu, Jean Segura, Taylor Lindsey and Kole Calhoun each had two hits to lead a 15-hit attack. Aybar is batting .545 (six for 11) in four spring games.

ON THE MOUND: C.J. Wilson looked sharp in his second spring start, allowing one hit in three scoreless innings and throwing several good changeups, a pitch he’s trying to add to his repertoire. He remained in the game after Gregor Blanco’s third-inning single nicked his pitching hand. Reliever Latroy Hawkins was tagged for three runs and four hits in his first spring inning.

EXTRA BASES: On the first ball hit to him at third base this spring, Trumbo made a diving grab of Joaquin Arias’ second-inning liner to his left. The converted first baseman also fielded Justin Christian’s routine third-inning grounder and threw accurately to first. Catcher Bobby Wilson left the game in the fifth because of tightness in a quadriceps muscle, but the injury is not believed to be serious.

UP NEXT: Right-hander Garrett Richards faces the Cleveland Indians and left-hander David Huff at 1 p.m. at Tempe Diablo Stadium, and right-hander Eric Hurley faces the Cincinnati Reds and right-hander Mat Latos at Goodyear Ballpark.
