LUSD teacher honored
Lodi Unified School District’s Samantha McCoy was named Teacher of the Month for December by ABC10, SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union and Sacramento State’s College of Education this week.
McCoy has been teaching for 24 years, and currently teached science/STEM at Christa McAuliffe Middle School in Stockton.
A story about McCoy will air on ABC10 on Dec. 12 during its 5 a.m. newscast, as well as its 5 p.m. news.
The media outlet said McCoy goes above and beyond to create projects, promote participation in Mathematics, Engineering & Science Achievement activities and competitions, and works to provide opportunities for field trips and travel for students.
Many of her students would not otherwise be exposed to all the avenues and opportunities in the science/STEM fields if not for her dedication and investment or her time, the channel said.
