Follow the science with healthy skepticism

-

Editor: Concerning COVID-19 vaccinations, we hear the constant drumbeat of “follow the science.” I’m not anti-science or anti-vax but you need to be careful with “just follow the science.”

For example, science told us that billions of years ago there was nothing. Then, suddenly and for no reason, nothing exploded into a vast universe complete with single-cell living organisms, which, over billions of years, evolved into human beings. First off, how could something come into existence out of nothing? This defies all laws of science, but science told us this was true.

Further, there has never been a fossil that has proven the evolution of one species into another. No, science cannot explain the existence of an immensely vast universe that is intricately and breathtakingly woven together. Only an allpowerful, intelligent being who is outside of creation can be responsible for the existence of the universe (His name is God by the way). But science refuses to accept that it is wrong and evolution is still considered fact. Follow the science?

Additionally, science once said that the unborn fetus in the mother’s womb wasn’t a living organism, but it was just a blob of tissue.

Once again science was proven wrong and now it is established fact that an unborn baby is a living being, complete with its own human DNA. Science once again had egg on its face, so they did a quick two step and now say that the unborn do not possess “personhood.” Huh? What defines personhood? Some say self-awareness is what makes a human being into a “person.” If that’s the case, then a one-month-old, a six-month-old, or even a oneyear-old would not be a “person” using their absurd definition.

Follow the science? Remember, it is God who is the creator of the universe and all life, and as the creator, He laid down the rules that govern it (i.e. science). So, yes, science is real, but make sure what science you follow.

Human beings aren't always right, so don’t be too gullible in believing everything scientists say is fact.
