STANLEY LOUIS ROSENQUIST

Stanley Louis Rosenquist passed away Sunday, March 18 after a brief battle with a lung infection. He was 67. He was surrounded by his family.

Stanley was born in Stockton on July 26, 1950 to Evert Rosenquist and Edna Hines. He graduated from Stagg High School in 1968 and then served in the Stockton Police Department for from 1972 - 1981. Thereafter he became a licensed contractor and founded Artistic Granite & Marble Inc. in Lodi until his retirement in 2010.

Throughout the years, his surroundin­g himself with friends and family was a constant. Stanley would reminisce about his time at the police department during the 70s, the parties they would have, and his fellow police officers, many of whom became lifetime friends. In the 1980s, his passion for remodeling homes was not only a profitable business, but ensured that his own home was always a work in progress. His weekends were filled with family time, whether taking his brood to the mountains each year to cut down the family Christmas tree or spending weekends on the Delta waterways with close friends like the Nelsons.

He also enjoyed small pleasures like ballroom dancing and his television­s with the latest in technology. In the 1990s Stanley was fortunate to be able to travel much of the world. Some of his happiest times were enjoying cruises through the Panama Canal, Mexico, the Caribbean, Asia, and traveling to Spain and Italy. In the 2000s Stanley continued to travel and enjoyed spending time with his family at his beach house in Aptos and golfing with his buddies. More recently Stanley enjoyed all his friends from all of the different clubs he joined upon retiring. He enjoyed eating lamb shank dinners with the Oddfellows, playing liars dice with his friends at Elks Lodge, golfing with the buddies he made as a former board member of the Woodbridge Golf and Country Club, and serving as the wine steward of Stockton Firehouse Gang.

Stanley was fortunate to be able to enjoy his friends and family up to a few days before his passing.

He is proceeded in death by his parents Edna and Evert, wife Elizabeth, brothers, Lawrence and Anthony Rosenquist, and daughter-in-law Laura (Koepplin) Rosenquist.

He is survived by his wife Shirley Dumo, his wife Mary (Anguiano) Jimenez, his children Michelle Reinke (Jeff), of Twin Falls, Idaho; Tiffany Eden (Matthew) of Twin Falls, Idaho; step-daughter Michelle Hulstrom of Lodi (James), Brooks Rosenquist (Monica) of Denver, Colorado, and; Grant Rosenquist of Sacramento. He is also survived by nine grandchild­ren: Diego Rosenquist, Gabriella Reinke, Joshua Veit, Madison Eden, Marina Eden, Natalia Rosenquist, Taylor Hulstrom, Thomas Hulstrom, and Viviana Rosenquist. Stanley will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.

A reception and celebratio­n of his life will be held for friends and family at the Elks Lodge in Woodbridge from 11:30 to 2:00 pm on Tuesday, March 27th.
