Police say man killed two before shooting himself

Johnson said an investigation and an autopsy determined that all of the shots had been fired from the 7.26-caliber rifle that was found under Robert Ulan’s body.

Johnson said there was no history of domestic violence, drug abuse or medical or financial distress in the family. He said police are uncertain about a motive, but that neighbors reported a domestic dispute Dec. 6 within the Ulan home in the 2400 block of Merrill Avenue.

“There was an argument going on — yelling, screaming — there was some sort of argument that was escalating,” Johnson said.

He said officers conducting a welfare check when Ulan failed to show up for work discovered the bodies in the home.

Johnson said Ulan had been a Bullhead City employee since 1999,
