An Open Letter to Southern Nevada: The Next Chapter

To the Business Community of Southern Nevada: I’ve been in Southern Nevada for 20 years and have worked in several health care roles during that time. Over the last seven years, I’ve had the opportunity to lead a team of clinicians, nurses, specialists and a thousand other supporting teammates in providing health care to families in Southern Nevada. Our passion is palpable as we care for over 300,000 individuals who have chosen us to assist them in their health care journey. It’s been an immense privilege. I’m proud of the remarkable work we have done at HealthCare Partners Medical Group. HealthCare Partners Medical Group has grown into one of the most successful medical groups in Nevada, earning a reputation for excellence in patient care and provider engagement, although it wasn’t always easy and the road ahead will be challenging. Health care continues to evolve but one thing will remain the same: HealthCare Partners Medical Group’s commitment to placing clinicians and patients at the center of everything we do. As I step aside to welcome Mark Price, the new Market President at HealthCare Partners Medical Group, I’m even more excited for the future of health care in Nevada and for the future of our medical group and community IPA (medical group and affiliated) clinicians. Mark shares the desire to continue growing and developing the physician leaders throughout our organization and expanding and innovating HealthCare Partners Medical Group offerings throughout our service area in Clark and Nye Counties. I’ve been fortunate to work alongside Mark, watching and guiding him quietly for the last year as he’s gained a deep sense of who HealthCare Partners Medical Group is and what we can be. His previous experience in health care in other geographies is extremely valuable and he’s gotten to know our clinicians, our patients and the devoted teammates we work with every day. Watching him take the reins with a younger generational view—but a very thoughtful and measured approach—has been a joy. When I think about the challenges facing health care in Southern Nevada, ranging from access to defining quality care to the affordability of care, I know Mark will continue to cultivate a culture of leaders and teammates that continue to drive change and most importantly, provide solutions. I’m excited for the future of HealthCare Partners Medical Group, and I hope you are, too. Thank you for allowing me to be in this committed health care village.
