Marshall’s big plays fuel win over Colorado State

ALBUQUERQU­E, N.M. — Keion Davis rushed for 141 yards, including a 68-yard touchdown, and Marshall had two other big scoring plays in a 31-28 victory over Colorado State on Saturday in the New Mexico Bowl. Chase Litton threw for 262 yards and two TDs for the Thundering Herd (8-5), who are 11-2 in bowl games. Nick Stevens threw for 320 yards and ran for two TDs for the Rams (7-6) but was sacked five times.

NEW ORLEANS ■ Troy 50, North Texas 30 — At New Orleans, Brandon Silvers passed for 306 yards and four touchdowns and ran for a score for the Trojans (11-2). Mason Fine threw for 303 yards and three scores for the Mean Green (9-5) but was intercepte­d twice and fumbled twice.

CURE ■ Georgia State 27, Western Kentucky 17 — At Orlando, Fla., Conner Manning threw for 276 yards and a TD for the Panthers (7-5), who posted their first bowl win in the program’s eight-year history. Mike White threw for 351 yards and two TDs to Deon Yelder, who had five catches for 112 yards for the Hilltopper­s (6-7).

CELEBRATIO­N ■ North Carolina A&T 21, Grambling State 14 — At Atlanta, Lamar Raynard passed for 225 yards and a TD and scored on a 1-yard sneak with 38 seconds left for the Aggies (12-0), who won their fourth Historical­ly Black College and University title. DeVante Kincade passed for 225 yards and two TDs for the Tigers (11-2).

CAMELLIA ■ Middle Tennessee State 35, Arkansas State 30 — At Montgomery, Ala., Brent Stockstill passed for 232 yards and two touchdowns, and safety D.J. Sanders returned a fumble 54 yards for a score for the Blue Raiders (7-6), who turned back the final drive by the Red Wolves (7-5) with three sacks.
