México transportará a migrantes que tengan cita de ‘CBP One’ en EE UU
La medida se anuncia una semana después de que la CBP expuso que los migrantes ahora pueden gestionar su cita para solicitar asilo en Chiapas y Tabasco, estados de la frontera sur de México
El gobierno de México anunció que transportará desde su frontera sur a migrantes con una cita de la aplicación ‘CBP One’, de la Oqcina de Aduanas y Protección Fronteriza de Estados Unidos, para pedir asilo.
La Secretaría de Gobernación (Segob) y el Instituto Nacional de Migración (INM) informaron en un comunicado conjunto de «la puesta en marcha de un ‘Corredor emergente de movilidad segura’ para auxiliar en el traslado terrestre de personas extranjeras que cuenten con una cita» con las autoridades estadounidenses.
La medida se anuncia una semana después de que la CBP expuso que los migrantes ahora pueden gestionar su cita para solicitar asilo en Chiapas y Tabasco, estados de la frontera sur de México.
La nueva regla, anunciada a cerca de dos meses y medio de que sean las elecciones presidenciales en Estados Unidos, busca que los migrantes no saturen la frontera común con México, donde la detención diaria de indocumentados ha caído un 77 % desde diciembre, según datos de la Cancillería mexicana.
El Gobierno mexicano indicó ahora que, desde la nueva medida, «300 personas que solicitaron su cita ‘CBP One’ en Tabasco y Chiapas, recibieron respuesta a su petición en un lapso de escasos días posteriores».
Aunque no detallaron cuál será el punto Qnal del trayecto, la Segob y el INM describieron que el traslado de migrantes se realizará con autobuses acompañados de» instituciones de seguridad en el ámbito federal, estatal y municipal».

Los puntos de salida serán la Estación Migratoria de Villahermosa, capital de Tabasco, y la oqcina de Regulación Migratoria Zona Sur en Tapachula, en Chiapas, el principal cruce fronterizo entre México y Guatemala.
Las dependencias prometieron dar «alimentos durante los viajes correspondientes».
La política de México incluye dar a los migrantes con la cita de ‘CBP One’ una Forma Migratoria Múltiple (FMM) para tener una condición de estancia regular durante 20 días.
Las instituciones gubernamentales aseguraron que el proyecto es una estrategia para «cuidar la seguridad de las personas extranjeras que decidan trasladarse vía terrestre al punto de entrada de su cita».
«A Qn de proteger la unidad familiar, la autoridad migratoria dará prioridad a estos núcleos para viajar juntos», agregaron.
Aunque han caído las detenciones en la frontera con Estados Unidos, la migración irregular a través de México se elevó un 193 % interanual en la primera mitad del año hasta superar las 712.000, según la Unidad de Política Migratoria del Gobierno.

MEXICO CITY (AP) — Mexico will offer escorted bus rides from southern Mexico to the U.S. border for nonmexican migrants who have received a United States asylum appointment, the government announced.
The National Immigration Institute said the buses will leave from the southern cities of Villahermosa and Tapachula. It appeared to be an attempt to make
applying for asylum appointments from southern Mexico more attractive to migrants who otherwise would push north to Mexico City or the border.
The announcement came a week after the U.S. government expanded access to the CBP One application to southern Mexico. Access to the app, which allows asylum seekers to register and await an appointment, had previously been restricted to central and northern Mexico.
The Mexican government wants more migrants to wait in southern Mexico farther from the U.S. border. Migrants typically complain there is little work available in southern Mexico for a wait that can last months. Many carry debts for their trip and feel pressure to work.
The migrants who avail themselves of the buses will also receive a 20-day transit permit allowing them legal passage across Mexico, the institute’s statement said.
Previously, Mexican authorities said they would respect migrants who showed that they had a scheduled asylum appointment at the border, but some migrants
reported being swept up at checkpoints and shipped back south, forced to miss their appointments.
Local, state and federal law enforcement will provide security for the buses and meals will be provided during transit, the institute said.
The rides could also help discourage some migrants from making the arduous journey north on foot. Three migrants were killed and 17 injured this week when a vehicle barrelled into them on a highway in the southern state of Oaxaca.
Mexico had pressured the United States to expand CBP One access in part to alleviate the build up of migrants in Mexico City. Many migrants had opted over the past year to wait for their appointments in Mexico City where there was more work available and comparatively more security than the cartel-controlled border cities.
Those with the resources buy plane tickets to the border crossing point where their appointments are scheduled to reduce the risk of being snagged by Mexican authorities or by the cartels, which abduct and ransom migrants.
The announcement came a week after the U.S. government expanded access to the CBP One application to southern Mexico.
