Senator asks for vote against Trump.

-

A Mexican Senator asked Mexicans with U.S. citizenship to vote against Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

Sen. Victor Hermosillo, a former Mexicali Mayor and member of the National Action Party, or PAN in Spanish, introduced a resolution requesting a detailed report from the Mexican Executive regarding the meeting with Trump held by the end of August.

“In external affairs what we must do is ask those American citizens, who were Mexicans in the past, to vote against that demagogue who has insulted them and has put them in a place they do not deserve,” Sen. Hermosillo said. “Most of those Mexicans are now American citizens but do not vote. I hope with this (meeting) they wake up and vote against this person.”

He said Trump is looking to win over with voters, making proposals impossible to come to fruition.

The Mexican Legislature has to seek ways to influence in external affairs, which is part of its constitutional duties, he said.

Hermosillo invited Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto to dialogue and explain details of his meeting with Trump.

“If he went to speak with (Mexican anchor Carlos) Marín, I do not see any objection to come and dialogue with PAN senators,” Hermosillo said. “We want to know what really happened during that visit as many versions about it have come out.”
