Moore’s four RBIs power M’s sweep

SEATTLE — Dylan Moore hit a solo home run and added a three-run double, Kyle Seager hit a two-run home run and the surging Seattle Mariners beat the Texas Rangers 8-4 on Monday for their first six-game winning streak since July 2019.

Seattle completed a four-game sweep of the Rangers, who have lost six straight. The Mariners are 11-3 after an 8-19 start, on their longest winning streak streak since July 24-30 last year against Detroit and Texas.

Seattle starter Marco Gonzales allowed two runs and four hits in seven innings with seven strikeouts. He retired the first 10 batters before Isiah Kiner-Falefa’s single. Shin-Soo Choo added another single and Joey Gallo hit a two-run, two-out double.

PHILLIES 9, METS 8 (10): Jean Segura hit a two-run homer in the 10th inning and drove in a career-best five runs, bailing out Philadelph­ia’s bullpen and helping beat host New York for a split of their four-game series.

MARLINS 5, BRAVES 4 (10): Miguel Rojas had four hits for visiting Miami, including a go-ahead double in the 10th inning to top Atlanta.

TWINS 6, TIGERS 2: Ryan Jeffers hit his first major league homer to spark host Minnesota’s four-run third inning, and Michael Pineda stayed sharp in his return from suspension.

CUBS 5, CARDINALS 1: Kyle Hendricks went eight innings, and NL Central-leading Chicago beat visiting second-place St. Louis.

Javier Baez had three singles and scored a run, helping the Cubs earn a split of the 10-game season series against the Cardinals.

NATIONALS 6, RAYS 1: Washington ace Max Scherzer cooled off visiting Tampa Bay with seven scoreless innings.

INDIANS 5, ROYALS 2: Zach Plesac won his second straight start since returning to the Cleveland’s rotation, beating visiting Kansas City to extended the Royals’ losing streak to a season-high seven straight.

BLUE JAYS 12, YANKEES 7: Chad Green and Adam Ottavino were routed during a 10-run sixth inning that included Danny Jansen’s grand slam, and host Toronto Blue Jays rallied to beat the New York in Buffalo for the Yankees’ sixth loss in seven games.

GIANTS 4, DIAMONDBAC­KS 2: Kevin Gausman and three relievers combined on a three-hitter, and host San Francisco beat Arizona

Darin Ruf hit a two-run single in the sixth, and Brandon Belt had a bases-loaded walk as the Giants won for the sixth time in eight games.

PADRES 1, ROCKIES 0: Jurickson Profar hit an RBI double with no outs in the ninth inning for host San Diego, which got a brilliant performanc­e from righthande­r Dinelson Lamet to beat Colorado for its sixth victory in eight games.
