WAYNE “STEVE” SMITH

-

1945-2018

Wayne Stevens “Steve” Smith entered into eternal peace on Wednesday, September 5, 2018, in Magnolia, Texas, at the age of 73.

Steve is survived by his loving family: his wife, Blanche D. Smith, and their twins, Kailey Davis Smith and Kadin McCampbell Smith; daughter, Lindy Smith Avila (husband, Eddie); daughter, Lacy Smith Hall (husband, Phillip); grandchildren, Dylan Michael Avila and Braden Davis Hall; sister, Jean Smith Dorsey; and brother, Richard Baird Smith.

Steve received his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Texas School of Law in 1971 and was a tremendous force in the legal community for more than 47 years. He had a passion to assist people through troubled times through his legal practice.

In this connection, alongside his devoted law partner and wife, he spent the latter part of his career focusing on Estate Planning, Probate and Elder Law in order to assist people with creating and implementing an estate plan that would bring them and their families mental peace of mind and financial protection.

Steve was a member of the Real Estate, Probate and Trust Law Section of the Texas Bar Association and the Probate, Trusts and Estates Section of the Houston Bar Association.

Steve was a loving husband and father, and a good friend. He enjoyed cooking and grilling, reading, watching the Texas Long Horn games and he could always put a smile on his family’s faces with a good pun. Steve also enjoyed spending time with The Smith Zoo: Khaos, Bear, Bodhi, Kismet, Karma, Dude, Snickers and Skimmer. Steve’s smile, his devotion, his integrity, and his dignity will always be remembered by those whose lives he touched.

In honor of Steve’s wishes, in lieu of a funeral or memorial service, a small gathering of his family will celebrate his life.
