IRENE KRACHY FERRELL
1933-2015
KERRVILLE – Mrs. Irene Krachy Ferrell died December 6, 2015, in Kerrville, TX. She was born December 29, 1933, in Houston, Texas to Arthur Clair “Bill” Krachy and Eunice Inman Krachy.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister Ann Krachy Lyle; and her son Robert Warren Ferrell, Jr.
She is survived by her brother-in-law John Lyle of Prescott, Arizona; her brother William Inman Krachy of Arundel, Maine; her daughter Melissa Ferrell Baker and son-in-law Lt. Col. Joe D. Baker II, USMC (Ret.) of Fleming Island, Florida; her daughter-in-law Katherine Smitherman Ferrell Kenebrew of Sunnyvale, Texas; grandson Benjamin Jacob Ferrell of Dallas, TX; and granddaughters Leah Diane Ferrell of Richardson, TX; Lindsay Morgan Baker of Jacksonville, Florida; and Callie Nicole Baker of Fleming Island, Florida.
She graduated from Lamar High School, Houston, Texas, in 1952; Christian College, Columbia, Missouri, in 1954; and the University of Texas at Austin in 1956 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. While at UT, she was an active member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority and remained an active alumna throughout the following years.
She worked as the Assistant Coordinator and Bookkeeper at Holy Spirit Episcopal School in Houston and as the Administrative Assistant to the CEO of Tinsley Physical Therapy in Houston. She was a member of Holy Spirit Episcopal Church and the Cursillo Renewal Movement.
As an active member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Kerrville, Texas, she was especially involved at the Cottage Shop.
A Graveside Service will be held on January 16, 2015, at 2:30 PM at Memorial Oaks Cemetery in west Houston. The Reverend Stockton Williams, Rector, St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, will officiate.

Additional survivors are numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Edwin and Emma Schulze, parents-inlaw Fritz and Lena Finke; brothers-in-law Raymond Finke, Earl Abke, Ivan Finke, and Milton Janner, and sister-in-law, Irene Abke.
Serving as pallbearers are her grandsons: Brent Folsom, Clay Finke, Bryan Folsom, Bradley Folsom, Ryan Finke, and Grant Finke. Hunter Folsom will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
Memorials may be directed to Grace Lutheran Church.
