SAN ANTONIO — Cameron Ward threw a 6-yard scoring pass to Robert Ferrel in overtime and Incarnate Word beat Stephen F. Austin 35-28 in the first round of the FCS playoffs on Saturday.
The Cardinals (10-2) advance to face defending champion and No. 1-seed Sam Houston on Dec. 4.
Incarnate Word’s defense ended it on fourth-and-three from the 8-yard line by applying pressure and flushing Lumberjacks quarterback Trae Self.

Freshman Calvin Hill rushed for 123 yards and a touchdown and the Bobcats won at Jonesboro, Ark.
Hill’s 6-yard TD run capped a six-play, 83-yard drive midway through the third quarter and gave the Bobcats (4-8, 3-5 Sun Belt) a 24-13 lead.
