Mozelle Lane Karll passed away peacefully with grace August 13, 2015 in Houston Texas. Family and close friends celebrated the life of Mozelle with wonderful memories of a loving mother, a caring wife and a dedicated friend. Mozelle lovingly devoted her time to her children. She was always there for us, taking us to school, ballet class, art class, soccer, cheerleading, and helping care for the menagerie of animals. She taught us the value of friends and instilled in us a deep awareness of the suffering of others and the true meaning of compassion. Mozelle will be remembered most for her exceptional beauty and grace. She had a long career as a fashion model at the renowned Neiman Marcus specialty store in Dallas, TX. Stanley Marcus considered her a great beauty. She studied fashion design at UCLA and worked in New York City before Stanley Marcus asked her to return as style-coordinator for the models at Neiman Marcus. With her impeccable and unique style, Mozelle was passionate about haute-couture design, fine tailoring, and precious fabrics.

She was active in the American Red Cross during the war-effort as a driver picking up the wounded soldiers who were returning from overseas. Mozelle met Robert P. Karll in Mexico City where he had been appointed to serve as Air Attachê at the American Embassy after serving as a decorated air force officer in World War II. Their love for flying was mutual and together they had great adventures traveling. She became the co-pilot and the wife of Captain Karll in 1948 residing in Dallas and Mexico City raising two daughters, Susan and Christina.

Mozelle is survived by her daughter, Christina Karll and son-in-law, Hal D. McWhorter.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the Jane Goodall Institute or the charity of your choice.
