Miss Caroline Elise Farmer Weds Mr. Matthew William Reckling

Caroline Elise Farmer of Austin and Matthew William Reckling of Houston were united in marriage on Saturday, December 7, 2013, at six-thirty in the evening at the First United Methodist Church in Austin. The Reverend West Brazelton of Houston officiated the double-ring ceremony. Music was provided by Hyde Park Strings, organist Scott Davis and vocalists Carey Dietert and Jimmy McNeal.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Stephen Farmer of Austin and granddaugh­ter of Mr. and Mrs. James Farmer of West Columbia, Texas and Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Basse of Fredericks­burg, Texas.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Masterson Reckling of Houston, and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Radcliffe Reckling III of Houston and Mr. David Mansfield Beveridge of Houston and the late Mrs. Marcia Beveridge.

Given in marriage by her father the bride wore an ivory strapless fit and flare gown by Ravini of Canada. The gown featured tiered French Alencon lace, covered buttons down the back and was adorned with a crystal and pearl belt at the waist. The gown’s full skirt fell gently into a grand chapel length train and was finished in fortuny-pleated English net. The bride’s cathedral-length veil of French tulle was also designed by Ravini and was bordered in matching Alencon lace. The bride carried a bouquet of white roses, orchids and peonies.

The bride’s maids of honor were her sisters, Lauren Farmer and Katherine Farmer of Austin. Her bridesmaid­s were: Miss Caroline Davis of Houston; Miss Callie Fine of Houston; Miss Haley Hall of Dallas; Miss Sarah Beth Hill of San Antonio; Miss Alexa Leach of Houston; Miss Kendall Palmer of Dallas; Miss Caitlyn Reid of Austin; and Miss Caroline Thompson of Houston. They wore full length blue silk taffeta gowns. Flower girls were Miss Caroline Cooper and Miss Catherine Cooper of Austin. The couple’s ring bearer was Master Joseph Jornayvaz, Junior of Houston.

The House Party for the bride included: Miss Jacy Burrell of Houston; Miss Jordan Carroll of Los Angeles; Miss Meredith Cummings of Wichita Falls; Miss Alexis Dacy of Austin; Miss Grace Dewar of Dallas; Miss Jennifer Flieller of Austin; Miss Meredith Marceau of San Antonio; Mrs. Melissa Moncrief of Houston; Mrs. Meredith Moncrief of Los Angeles; Miss Bailey Morledge of Austin; Miss Taylor Rees of New Orleans; Mrs. Jessica White of Dallas; and Miss Elizabeth Wilson of Los Angeles.

The groom’s best man was his brother, Mr. Stephen Reckling, Junior of Houston. The groomsmen included brothers of the groom Mr. Bryant Reckling, Mr. Hunter Reckling and Mr. John Patrick Reckling all of Houston; Mr. James Bailey of Houston; Mr. Jacob Baker of Houston; Mr. Michael Kight III of Houston; Mr. Geoffery Perrott of Houston; Mr. Jeremy Rathjen of Houston; and Mr. Samuel Stafford of Dallas.

Those serving as ushers included: Mr. Michael Cokinos of Houston; Mr. Cullen Cone of Houston; Mr. Thomas Crain, III of Houston; Mr. Michael Sterling Curry of Midland; Mr. Anthony Fazio of Houston; Mr. Matthew Hicks of Houston; Mr. Michael OJala of Houston; Mr. Michael Ratterree of Houston; and Mr. Steven Sultzbaugh of Houston.

Following the ceremony, a cocktail reception and dinner was held at the Four Seasons Hotel. Guest were entertaine­d by the Arundel Ensemble and danced to Sauce The Band. On the eve of the wedding the groom’s parents and grandparen­ts, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Recklng III, hosted a cocktail reception and rehearsal dinner at Brazos Hall in downtown Austin where country musician Cory Morrow performed after dinner.

The bride is a graduate of Westlake High School in Austin and The University of Texas where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Corporate Communicat­ions. She was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority and a UT cheerleade­r. Caroline is employed at Greenwood King Real Estate in Houston.

The Groom is a graduate of The Kincaid School in Houston and Rice University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sports Management and was a pitcher for the Rice baseball team. Matthew is employed by Barclays Capital, Inc. as a Financial Analyst.

Following a honeymoon to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico the couple is at home in Houston, Texas.
