Oklahoma back in Big 12 title game
OKLAHOMA CITY — Oklahoma earned its second straight Big 12 championship title game appearance by surviving two Kansas State rallies to win 7-6 in 11 innings Saturday at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.
The Sooners (39-19) swept through Pool One play undefeated and will face Kansas or West Virginia at 1 p.m. Sunday in the championship game.
Texas Tech beat Baylor 8-2 in the other Pool One game.
West Virginia beat Oklahoma State 6-5 in Pool Two play to stay in the chase for the tournament title. West Virginia would face Oklahoma for the title Sunday if TCU beat Kansas in the other Pool Two game late Saturday. SOUTHLAND
Central Arkansas went to the arm of its freshman righthanded pitcher Connor Gilmore to start the championship game of the Southland Conference Baseball Tournament and got a two-hit, completegame 4-0 shutout against Southeastern Louisiana at Constellation Field in Sugar Land to claim the school’s first league championship and an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
Central Arkansas beat Oral Roberts 11-3 earlier in the day to advance to the title game, and Southeastern Louisiana beat Lamar 7-2 to stay alive. GREAT WEST
Houston Baptist dismantled Northern Colorado 13-3 to claim the Great West Conference tournament title at Bears & Eagles Riverfront Stadium in Newark, N.J.
