John A. Arcari, Sr., 89, of Wethersfield, our greatest blessing and beloved husband of Maria (Gentile) Arcari, of 63 years, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 3, 2024, with his family by his side. Born in Hartford on June 23, 1934, he was the son of the late Pasquale and Anna Maria (Luppochino) Arcari. He grew up in Hartford and then East Hartford, before settling in Wethersfield with Maria to raise their family. John served proudly in the U.S. Coast Guard. He was a business owner and also worked as a successful salesman for Whirlpool for many years. His unwavering devotion to his family was his greatest attribute. John’s great sense of humor and smile lit up every room. He loved Friday nights or weekends at the Casino, with Maria, where his luck was on more than off. He loved watching all sports and particularly those his children and grandchildren participated in, of which he never missed one. He was our biggest fan. He led by example and we will be forever grateful for the lessons we learned from his incredible mindset and overwhelming love for us all. A loving husband, father and grandfather, John will be forever missed by his devoted wife Maria; his children, Gregory J. Arcari and partner Michael Avitable of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Lisa A. Krawczyk and incredible sonin-law Jeff (who he considered a son) of Wethersfield and his two adored grandchildren, Haley and Chance Krawczyk. He was predeceased by his son and the light of his life, Dr. John Arcari. He is survived by his many special nieces and nephews, Joe and Olivia Gentile, John and Judy Gentile, Ann Marie Rogers-morin, Susan Tigno, Michael Arcari, Tommy Arcari and Laura (Arcari) Parkington; his sister-in-law, Wilma Gentile; and many other cherished family members and friends, including Artie Maglieri, Dee and Manny Bordonaro and the entire Kelly family. In addition to his parents and son, he was also predeceased by his brother, Anthony Arcari; his sister, Mary Cooke; his father-in-law and motherin-law, Joseph and Martha Gentile, and his cherished brother-in-law, Joseph Gentile.
