-

Kathleen “Kathy" (Gorman) Reiser, 76, of Rocky Hill, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2023. She was affectionately known as “Nana” by her grandchildren and was the loving wife of the late Matthew J. “Jay” Reiser, Jr. Kathy was born on January 20, 1947 and raised in Hartford; one of five children to the late John J. and Stella T. (Skwara) Gorman. She was a graduate of South Catholic High School, Class of 1965, and continued her education at Hartford Secretarial School. Kathy was a Paralegal for over 30 years at the law firm of Mcvane, Bellabouno, Kuzmak, Wiezalis, & Bibisi in Hartford, retiring at the end of 2021. A longtime resident of Wethersfield and Rocky Hill, Kathy loved golf, playing Mahjong and enjoyed having a glass of Chardonnay and going out to dinner with friends. Kathy had the gift of making anyone who met her feel comfortable around her. She was fiercely independent, selfless and loved her daughters unconditionally. Above all else, Kathy cherished spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Nothing gave Kathy more joy than visiting them; whether it was going on vacation with the family or having them visit her at her home. She adored watching them do the things they love most and she delighted in making them the most delicious Christmas cookies, chicken soup and meatballs from scratch. Kathy’s family will forever miss her warmth, sound advice and hugs. We will never forget the fun nights staying up late with her talking while watching TV and hearing “I love you more” when she said goodbye. The magic that was Nana’s house, where the Food Network was always playing in the background, will always remain in our hearts.

Kathy will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her loving family; her adored daughters and sons-inlaw, Jennifer Lasch (Michael) of Westborough, MA and Jessica Talbot (Rusty) of Sugar Hill, NH; her cherished grandchildren, Samantha and Derek Lasch and Jack and Ryder Talbot. In addition, Kathy leaves her siblings, Brian Gorman (Linda), Karen E. Starkowski (Michael), Stephen J. Gorman (Josephine), and Jacquelyn M. Moore (David), as well as her nieces, nephews, extended family and many close and dear friends. Along with her husband and parents, she was predeceased by two brothers-in-law, Michael Reiser and David Moore, and her sister-in-law, Mims (Reiser) Bendall. The family extends a special thank you to the staff of Jefferson House for the care and compassion shown to Kathy. Friends and relatives may pay their respects to the family at the D’esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield on Monday, November 20 from 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., at which time a prayer service celebrating Kathy’s life will be held.
