- Jerry Lee Bales

Jerry Lee “Cowboy” Bales, 55, lifelong Guymon resident, passed away Thursday evening, January 21, 2021 at the Baptist St. Anthony Hospital in Amarillo, Texas.

The son of Kenneth and Bertha (Weickle) Bales, he was born June 19, 1965 in Guymon. Jerry attended Guymon schools, graduating with the Class of 1983.

He was united in marriage to Paula Sain on May 4, 2012 in Guymon. Cowboy owned and operated Bales Transport, a fuel transport operation.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Bertha Bales, and two brothers, Donnie and Butch Carter.

Survivors include his wife, Paula Bales of the home, seven children: Brandy Coulson and husband, Greg of Guymon, Kosha Ricker and husband, Nathan of Brush, Colorado, Terri Hertensen and husband, Jacob Ronne of Guymon, Jerry Bales and wife, Shanna of Texhoma, Oklahoma, Heather Slane and husband Perry of Perry, Oklahoma, Jacob Zielke and wife, Peyton of Turpin, Oklahoma and Garrett Zielke and wife, Cassidy of Turpin, Oklahoma. Survivors also include two brothers, Garry Carter and wife, Dianna of Guymon and Kenneth Bales of Guymon, one sister, Debbie Rudolph of Kansas, and twelve grandchild­ren: Bradley, Harmony, Austin, Peyton, Chloe, Landon, Gage, Brynlee, Hunter, Boone, Kynlie and Jaxon.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday afternoon, January 29th at 2:00 p.m. at the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Van Heckle officiatin­g. Interment will follow in the Elmhurst Cemetery. Services are under the care of the Bunch- Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.
