CIAC BOYS TENNIS PLAYERS TO WATCH IN 2024
Volodymyr Dombrovskyi, Greenwich, Soph.:
Advanced to the Round of 16 at the CIAC State Invitational. GameTimeCT and All-FCIAC Second Team selection helped lead the Cardinals to the Class LL and FCIAC titles.
Will Donnelly, Darien, Sr.:
All-FCIAC First Team pick for doubles advanced to the State Invitational doubles semifinals. Will play tennis at Holy Cross next season.
Nicholas Hermes, Hall, Jr.:
Returning GameTimeCT All-State First Team pick. Finished with a 19-3 record at No. 1 singles, including winning the Kingswood Invitational Tennis Tournament for the second straight season. Advanced to the quarterfinals of the State Invitational tournament.
Liam Hovorka, Avon, Sr.:
Helped lead Avon to the Class M state championship at No. 1 singles. Finished with an 18-2 record. GameTimeCT All-State First Team pick last year.
Luke Levanat, Fairfield Prep, Jr.: Helped lead the Jesuits to an undefeated regular season, an SCC tournament title and the
Class LL semifinals. Reached the Round of 16 in the State Invitational tournament. GameTimeCT First Team All-State selection last year,
Michael Lorenzetti, Notre Dame-West Haven, Soph.:
Went 18-0 during the regular season without dropping a set, mainly at No. 2 singles for the Green Knights. Finished 21-2.
Rohan Mittal, Greenwich, Jr.: GameTimeCT First Team All-State pick went 20-0 at No. 2 doubles with teammate Harrison Wolfe. That included a run to the CIAC State Invitational title as an unseeded team. Jackson Mountford, New Canaan, Soph.: Helped lead the Rams to the Class L state finals. All-FCIAC Second Team selection advanced to the second round of the State Invitational.
Wesley Nichols, Barlow, Sr.: Two-time SWC singles champion had a 19-1 record and advanced to the quarterfinals of the State Invitational Tournament. A GameTimeCT First Team All-State pick, Will play tennis at Colgate next season.
Lukas Phimvongsa, Enfield/Somers/AAE Coop, Sr.:
Has a 50-0 regular-season record and advanced to the CIAC Invitational semifinals for the second straight season. A GameTimeCT all-stater last season. Will play at Brown next season. Thomas Sirichantho, Amity, Fr: Will be the No. 1 player for an Amity team looking to take the next step after advancing to the Class L state semifinals last season. Already opened the season with a straight-set shutout for the Spartans.
Harrison Wolfe, Greenwich, Sr.: GameTimeCT First Team All-State pick teamed with Mittal to go 20-0 at No. 2 doubles. That included a run to the CIAC Invitational doubles title as an unseeded team and helping the Cardinals clinch the FCIAC championship.
