County reports Covid-19 death
Mendocino County health officials announced Monday that another resident with Covid-19 has passed away, marking the 89th death since the pandemic began.
According to a press release, the latest patient to die from the virus was a 74-year-old Ukiah woman who is described as having been fully vaccinated from Covid-19, but who also had “severe comorbidities.”
The release also notes that Public Health staff request “all Mendocino County residents to think about the ways they are protecting themselves and their families from Covid-19. When in doubt, consult with and follow all CDC and CDPH guidance. Vaccination, masking, and social distancing remain the best tools for combating Covid-19.”
Also, the release notes that “fully vaccinated people over age 65 (or over age 50 with certain health conditions) should strongly consider getting a Covid-19 vaccine booster to improve immunity. Boosters should be given at least six months after completion of the initial Pfizer series. If you have questions about boosters, speak with your doctor, or call Public Health at 707-472-2759.
