Pumpkins galore at Farmers Market

The Farmers Market at Murphy's Art District (MAD) will be having its annual “Pumpkin Day” this Saturday at the MAD Amphitheat­er at 105 East Locust.

There will be several activities centered around pumpkins including children's pumpkin decorating, pumpkin tic-tac-toe, and a fall photo backdrop for patrons.

Vendors attending the market include P&L Farms, Mike Senn Family Farm, JJ's Baubles and Perfect Little Farm, according to an Oct. 15 press release.

Produce and foods such as local breads, eggs, peppers, collards, squash, cuccuzi, sweet potatoes, beef, locally grown flowers, handmade crafts, and more will be available for purchase.

The Union County Master Gardeners Annual Bulb Sale is also this

Saturday at the MAD Amphitheat­er. The bulbs for sale will include crocus, narcissus, hyacinths, iris, tulips, allium drumsticks, Spanish bluebells and anemone bulbs. All bulbs sold are specific to South Arkansas' planting zone.

LifeShare Blood Center will be on-site for their mobile blood drive. They will have a bus parked by the pavilion for blood donors.

The Farmers Market at MAD “Pumpkin Day” schedule is as follows:

8 a.m. – 11 a.m. Kids Pumpkin Decorating (until supplies run out)

9 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Live Music from Coulter Mason

10 a.m. Beginners yoga in the lawn with Jenn Purinton (bring your own mat)

All state COVID guidelines will apply. Masks are required when social distancing cannot be maintained. Kids under 10 are not required to wear a mask, according to the press release.
