LaVON WOOD
LaVon Wood, 93 of El Dorado passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at Hudson Memorial Nursing Home.
Born May 23, 1926 in England, Arkansas she was the daughter of Clyde Charles and
Mattie Florence Allison
Murphree. Mrs. Wood had been employed as the executive assistant to Frank J.
Hall an independent oil producer. She was longtime member of
First Christian Church in El Dorado.
Preceding her in death along with her parents were her husband, Charles W. Wood after 60 years of marriage; brothers, James D. Murphree and Dennis Murphree along with sisters, Wanda Lindsay and Joanne Davis.
Mrs. Wood is survived by sons, Charlie W. Wood, Jr. (Beverly) of Round Rock, Texas, Tim Wood and David Wood both of El Dorado and a daughter, Anne Evers (Nathan) of El Dorado. Surviving grandchildren are Chad Wood (Kelli), Angie Wagener all of Round Rock, TX, Jenny Roney (Chris) of Gulf Breeze, FL and Shelley Pruitt (John) of El Dorado. Mrs. Wood is also survived by brothers, Tommy Murphree (Pat) of Hot Springs Village and Jeff Murphree (Brenda) of El Dorado and a sister, Catherine Taylor (Rev. Gerald) of Malvern, AR., sisters-in-law, Betty Murphree and Pat Murphree both of El Dorado along with 8 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
In keeping with the Center of Disease Control (CDC) recommendations regarding public gatherings there will be no public visitation or services at this time. Arrangements for a memorial service may be announced by Young’s Funeral Directors.
