DAY 37: Tuesday, Nov. 6

-

SCRIPTURE: “For He has not despised or abhorred the affliction of the afflicted, and He has not hidden His face from him, but has heard, when he cried to Him.” – Psalm 22:24

“The Lord is a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.” – Psalm 9:9

“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” – Revelation 21:4

OBSERVATION: May we be ever mindful of those in our community who are victims of abuse and those who are abusive.

PRAYER: We pray for those who are, or have been, the victims of abuse. We pray that they will be made whole physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Heal their wounds and transform their brokenness. We pray that as a community we will not turn a deaf ear to the plight of those who are suffering but with listen and act just as Christ would have us to. Help us as disciples to live out our faith in tangible ways to make a Kingdom impact. Grant us courage and wisdom, humility and grace, so that we may act with justice and find peace in you. Father, work in the hearts of those who are abusive and turn their hearts to You. We long for the day when there will be no more abuse, injustice, and crime. In the meantime, strengthen us for the journey and may we be salt and light in the community. We ask all this through Christ, our Lord. Amen.
