EDNA M. BUCKWALTER
Edna Marie Buckwalter, 90, of El Dorado, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Aug. 6, 2018 at Courtyard Nursing and Rehabilitation where she was met by her loving husband, Logan J. Buckwalter.
Edna was born on April 23, 1928 to Turner and Lucy Coke Darden. She loved her family and Church. She truly enjoyed babysitting many, many children who still fondly call her “Mom
Buck”. Her hobbies included cooking, working in her flower beds, sewing and crocheting. During the holidays she and her husband made Italian Creme Cakes. Edna also took delight in sewing Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls and crocheting many items including baby blankets she shared with a number of people. Edna and Logan were kind giving people who took great joy in preparing their famous pizzas for the TAC house children. She was a dedicated mother to her children making sure they all got to their extra circular activities, including ball games, dance, Boy and Girl Scouts where she served as a troop leader.
She is preceded in death by her parents; loving husband of 56 years, Logan; son, Donnie; an infant daughter, Gloria Kennedy; one grandson, Trent Canada; and eight brothers and sisters.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Ann Hill of Cabot, Michael Buckwalter (Brenda) of El Dorado, Elwin Buckwalter of El Dorado, Rhonda Walters (Danny) of El Dorado, Bert Buckwalter (Nancy) of El Dorado, and Peggy Bonner (Steve) of El Dorado; sister, Pat Parks of El Dorado; 19 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and seven great great-grandchildren with a few more on the way.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2018 at Perry’s Funeral Chapels.
Funeral Services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2018 at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 142 North Wyatt Dr, El Dorado, officiated by Bro. Steve Pelz. Interment will follow at Burns Ebenezer Cemetery.

WALLACE A. FAULKNER
Wallace A. “Buddy” Faulkner, 96, of El Dorado died on Sunday, Aug. 5, 2018 at Heritage Nursing Center in Haynesville, Louisiana.
Born on Sept. 18, 1921 in Okolona, he was the son of C. Y. Faulkner and Stella Fugitt Faulkner.
He was a WWII Army TSGT serving in the South
Pacific and Philippines. Buddy enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and welding. Buddy attended Our Savior Lutheran Church.
Buddy was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years Bernice Gilbert Faulkner, his parents, ten brothers and sisters, a son Barry W. Faulkner and his wife Martha Jackson Faulkner.
Survivors are a son Steve (Juanita) Faulkner of Haynesville, Louisiana; two brothers, Jimmy Faulkner of Homer, Louisiana and Ralph Faulkner of Hot Springs; grandchildren Janie Shipman (Jason) of Junction City, Rebecca Faulkner of El Dorado, Matthew Faulkner of Haynesville and April Jones (Whitney) of Baton Rouge; great grandchildren Lauren Shipman, Nicholas Shipman, Mattie Lynn Faulkner, Ella Kate Jones, Kaylee (Gary) Shackleford and Blake Frisby.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Young’s Funeral Directors.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, 2018 at Our Savior Lutheran Church with Pastor Chuck Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Park.

MELINDA C. GODSEY
Melinda Cameron Godsey, 64, passed away Aug. 3, 2018, after a valiant battle with cancer. Her strong will to live, unwavering faith in god, and the love and prayers of family, friends and many supporters carried her through several courageous years.
Yet, even throughout her own struggle with cancer, she reached out to others affected in different ways that included participating in genetic research and creating and donating an original painting to the UAMS Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute.
Melinda was born on Jan. 3, 1954 in El Dorado, to Austin Van and Jamie Middleton Brantley. Melinda received a BFA in interior design from Louisiana Tech in Ruston, Louisiana. She had a distinguished career as an interior designer and was also a renowned artist. Melinda won many prestigious awards as a painter and left her artistic mark across the country, winning national awards from New York to San Diego. She influenced people of all ages by teaching and sharing her creative gift, which was her proudest accomplishment. Melinda has said “Painting is the freedom to communicate what I perceive through design and color.” She will be missed, but her art will forever speak for her.
In addition to her students, Melinda had a love of animals, including her many wolf dogs and horses. Melinda was an active member in Saint Mary’s Episcopal Church and served on various committees within the congregation.
She is preceded in death by her parents and dear cousin, Scott Lout. Survivors include her husband of 24 years, William Paul Godsey, of El Dorado; daughters Kelly Cameron of Hot Springs and Courtney Cassinelli of Little Rock; along with Mr. Godsey’s children, Chris Godsey (Meghan) of Bentonville, Jason Godsey (Jessica) of Fayetteville and Amber Nye (Rodney) of Rogers. She is also survived by her brother, David Brantley, of Jasper and her grandchildren who lovingly called her Nona: Jace (Jace-Man) Cameron; Cam (Cambo) and Cate (Missy Prissy) Cassinelli; Clay, Hayes and Pierce Godsey; Harper and Andrew Godsey; and Carter, Draper and Hunter Nye.
The family will receive friends to celebrate her life from 6 until 8 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 9, 2018, at the South Arkansas Arts Center, 110 E. Fifth Street. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Aug. 10, 2018, at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church with Father Charles Chapman and Father Robert Wetherington officiating. Cremation services entrusted to Young’s Funeral Directors.
MARJORIE N. LEWIS
Marjorie Nell Lewis, 89, of El Dorado, passed away Sunday, Aug. 5, 2018 at the Hudson Memorial Nursing Home in El Dorado.
Marjorie was born on April 16, 1929 in the Ebenezer community to the late James Jameson and Nellie (Cook) Jameson-Wilson. She was a member of the Salem Baptist Church where she served as the church clerk for 36 years. She retired from Stephens Post Office as a postal clerk.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; husband Douglas Harold Lewis; sisters, Regina Harris, Hazel Counts, and Jerry Lewis; grandson
John Lewis; and great grandson Landon Harold Lewis.
She is survived by her sons, Robert Lewis and wife Dawn of Mt. Holly, and Ronald Lewis and wife Cindy of Huntsville, Alabama; four grandchildren, Lisa Hackenberger and husband Jake of Mt. Holly, Melinda Lindgren and husband John of Keller, Texas, Matthew Lewis and wife Katie of Green Cove Springs, Florida, Nathan Lewis and wife Ashley of Woodstock, Georgia; and eight great grandchildren, Elise and Jonathan Hackenberger, Felicity, Trenton, and Christian Lindgren, Hatley Lewis, and Natalie and William Lewis.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 9, 2018 at the Salem Cemetery with Bro. Chris Warr officiating under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. in Magnolia. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions are sent to a children’s home of the donor’s choice.
