Janet M. Zedan

Janet embraced her position in the family business, Zedan Dental Lab, Inc., as Vice-President and a Certified Dental Technician with pride and passion. Building the Denture Department in her father’s dental lab, she shared his same strong commitment to excellence. Along with the team she worked alongside of, known as her dental lab family, she made her mark in the dental industry. She handled her career life with independence, hard work, and resilience. Her contributions in the dental field were many and significant.

Gabe, her loyal German shepherd and Sailor, her loving husky, along with many pets she owned through the years were her furry companions and filled her house with comfort and great adventures. She dedicated her free time to going on walks and playing with them outside. Janet had a great appreciation for nature and found tranquility in taking care of her gardens, living a healthy lifestyle, and reading.

Her greatest joy, though, came from the time she spent with her son, Jay. She was ever proud of him in his accomplishments and contributions to others through life. The two of them shared so many cherished moments of laughter and love. The mother-son bond they shared was an extraordinary and admirable one, a true gift.

Surviving are her son, Jay Rashid; mother, Jessie Zedan; sister, Julie (Todd) Salley; brother, John (Shawn) Zedan; nieces and nephews Alec, Jessica, and Joel Salley, Nick (Michelle) Gonyea, and Sarah (Christian) Moreno; and a host of beloved family members. She is preceded in death by her father, Gerald Zedan; grandparents Alexander and Mina Ross; and John and Mary Zedan.

A Celebration of Life memorial reception will be held at Western Golf and Country Club, 14600 Kinloch, Redford, MI 48239 on June 23, 2024, from 12:00 - 4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Janet’s memory.
