Detroit Mercy 66, Oakland 55: The resurgent Titans improved to 2-0 in conference play for the first time since the 2016-17 season as five players scored in double figures and UDM held visiting OU to 25% (15-for-60) from the floor. Annika Corcoran led the Titans with 13 points in 20 minutes off the bench while starters Irene Murua (12 points, 10 rebounds) and Emma Trawally Porta (10 points, 10 rebounds) each posted double-doubles for UDM (6-3). Markuyia McCormick led the Golden Grizzlies (3-4, 0-2 Horizon) with 13 points on 3-for-10 shooting and Brooke Quarles-Daniels chipped in 10 points and five boards. The Titans won’t attempt to match their 2022-23 Horizon win total (three) until a visit from Northern Kentucky on Jan. 1; next up, they visit Western Michigan at 7 p.mm. Wednesday. The Golden Grizzlies, meanwhile, will try to snap a twogame skid with a visit to Xavier in Cincinnati at noon Thursday.

MAC women

North Dakota 64, Eastern Michigan 56:

Olivia Smith put up 21 points on 7-for-13 shooting but her fellow Eagles shot just 14-for49 (28.6%) as visiting EMU dropped its third straight. Cali Denson hoisted up 16 shots, making just four en route to nine points and ZeNiya Nelson went 2-for-13, including a 4-for-9 mark from beyond the arc, while scoring five points. Despite the misses — or perhaps because of them — EMU was outrebounded, 52-32. The Eagles continue their road trip with a visit to St. Charles, Missouri, to face Lindenwood at 7 p.m. Thursday and a Saturday visit to Evansville, Indiana, to face Southern Indiana.
