Michelle Obama’s “The Light We Carry: Overcoming in Uncertain Times” debuted at No. 1 this week on the USA TODAY Best-Selling Books list. This is not the first time the former first lady has debuted at the top spot on the list.

Her first book, the memoir “Becoming,” debuted at No. 1 in 2018 and stayed there for six consecutive weeks. “Becoming,” which sold more than 17 million editions, would go on to become USA TODAY’s best-selling book of 2018. It remained on the list for more than two years, returning to the No. 1 spot when the paperback edition was released the following year

In her latest book, Obama reflects on navigating an increasingly stressful world. “We become bolder in brightness. If you know your light, you know yourself,” Obama writes in the introduction.

Kid Rock fights to save home that once belonged to Williams

Outspoken star Kid Rock has helped push the future of Beechwood Hall, a 160-year-old historic home in Tennessee, into national news headlines.

“Like so many other people in this country, we are sick of seeing history torn to the ground,” said Rock in a Tuesday interview with Fox News host Tucker Carlson.

Rock, whose real name is Robert James Ritchie, mentioned in the interview that Beechwood Hall is the former home of Hank Williams Sr.

In 1951, Williams purchased the property, although never lived there. It was later owned by country music stars Tim McGraw and Faith Hill.

Concern that the historic home will be torn down by owner Larry Keele has spread rapidly since Leonora Clifford, a local resident who traces her roots back to the original builders, posted Oct. 27 on social media that demolition was imminent.
