Q. How many years have you been teaching in Oakwood Schools:

A. 21 years

A. I taught in Princeton City Schools in Cincinnati for 12 years.

Q. What led you to a career in education?

A. I wanted to help students reach their potential by fostering a love of learning. I knowthat instilling a love of learning in students ensures abrighter future for them. I wanted to make a difference in the lives of the students.

Q. What do you hope your students take away from this year?

A. I hope my students realize that we can do anything we put our minds to do and that it will bring positive results. Some of the changes due to COVID-19 are difficult, but we are learning so much and finding so many great things due to the changes. I want the students to remember how resilient and resourcefu­l they can be. Just enjoy the journey, good things will come.

A. Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education with a concentrat­ion in Early Interventi­on and a Bachelor’s in French from the University of Dayton

Q. How many years have you beenwith Oakwood Schools?

A. This is my first year, and I cannot stress enough howfortuna­te I feel to be a part of such an amazing district!

A. I am a first-year teacher!

Q. What led you to a career in education?

A. In high school, I was fortunate enough to participat­e in a college credit preschool program, where I worked as a preschool teacher. During this time, we toured a school for children with special needs and I knew from that moment on, I wanted to help this demographi­c of students. My experience­s atUDonly further validated that!

Q. Howhas COVID-19 affected your first year?

A. I am the itinerant teacher so I see students, one at a time, and some even through Zoom!

Q. What do you hope your students take away from this year?

A. I hope my students truly learn to fall in love with learning and having fun while learning. I also hope they gain the self-confidence to be independen­t and successful moving forward into a center based preschool classroom or Kindergart­en!
