Get help staying cool
The Ohio Development Services Agency and Warren County
Community Services will help income-eligible Ohioans stay cool during the hot summer months. The Home Energy Assistance Summer Crisis Program provides eligible Ohioans assistance paying an electric bill, purchase an air conditioning unit or fan or assistance paying for central air conditioning repairs. The program ends Sept. 30.
To apply, schedule a phone interview with a representative by calling 513-970-6737 or visit https://wccs.itfrontdesk.com. Needed to process application: ■ Copies of most recent energy bills;
■ List of all household members and proof of income for the last 30 days or 12 months for each member;
■ Last 30 days of Income for all household members 18 years or older
■ Self-employed required 12 months of income (must have form filled out and IRS 1040). Self-employment form at your local office, prior to appointment
■ Seasonal Employees must provide pay stubs, printout or seasonal employment verification form for past 12 months at your local office, prior to appointment
■ Zero Income: must have documented proof of how met personal needs including rent/mortgage, food, utilities, medical and any assistance received and if someone has given you money for rent, bills, etc., a notarized letter from the gift giver with the amounts and their name, address and phone number
■ Photo ID-for primary applicant
■ Proof of U.S. citizenship or legal residency for all household members
■ Renters: Lease or notarized statement from landlord or metropolitan or HUD housing worksheet
■ Proof of disability (if applicable)
■ Physician documentation that cooling assistance is needed for a household member’s health (if there isn’t a household member older than 60).
Due to COVID-19; PIPP customers that are an enrollment or have a PIPP default may be eligible for a one-time payment. Also, PIPP customers that are current on their PIPP installments; may be eligible to receive an air conditioner and /or fan if you haven’t received one in the last three years.
