UD Arena’s COVID-19 testing site on the move, four others to open
Original drive-thru in town did 24,600 tests in five months.
The original drive-thru coronavirus testing site in Dayton is moving across town and four others will open in the region.
Dayton-based Premier Health and CompuNet Clinical Laboratories, which operate the test collection site at University of Dayton Arena, said in a statement that on Aug. 24 they will open the new sites. The UD site’s last day will be Friday.
The UD Arena site will move to the former fairgrounds site, the future home of the OnMain development, across Main Street from Miami Valley Hospital. The UD site opened March 17 and more than 24,600 people were tested during its five-month run, according to Premier.
Starting Aug. 24, Premier stated that those seeking tests should enter the new OnMain testing site, at 1229 S. Main St. in Dayton, through the former fairgrounds main entrance.
The OnMain site will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday
through Friday. The drivethru testing site will not require an appointment, and is open to any individual who has a physician’s order for the test.
Premier Health patients who need to schedule PCR testing prior to a procedure can do so online at premierhealth.com.
Premier Health will also have the following test site locations open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. seven days per week for those with a physician order or who have scheduled pre-procedure testing:
■ Atrium Medical Center, One Medical Center Drive, Middletown (drive-thru at Behavioral Health Unit canopy)
■ Upper Valley Medical Center, 3130 N. County Road 25A, Troy (drive-thru in the parking lot northeast of the former Dettmer Hospital site)
■ Premier Health Urgent Care – Vandalia, 6700 Commerce Center Drive (patient calls upon arrival and is met at door)
■ Premier Health Urgent Care – Miamisburg, 8 Prestige Plaza Drive (patient calls upon arrival and is met at door)
