Woman stabbed during argument

-

An argument outside Kroger on Tuesday night led to a woman’s stabbing.

Crews were called around 7:15 p.m. to the grocery store at 3520 W. Siebenthaler Ave. in Harrison Twp. on the report of a stabbing.

The victim was stabbed when she and another person were involved in a verbal altercation, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff ’s Office. She was taken to the hospital.

The incident remains under investigation and it’s not clear whether anyone was arrested.

Crews were called to a house fire in the 2000 block of Indigo Trail Tuesday evening.

According to initial reports, flames were visible from the chimney.

The house fire on Indigo Trail was knocked down and was the result of carbon buildup in the fireplace, according to fire officials on scene.

A man whose home was damaged by a tornado earlier this year is displaced again after a speeding driver trying to avoid getting pulled over crashed into his house, troopers said.

The sport-utility vehicle caused significant damage to the foundation of the Neff Road home in the crash reported around 11:15 p.m. in Harrison Twp.

“This is just blow No. 2 for this gentleman, just before the end of 2019, as if it hasn’t been bad enough,” Sgt. Dallas Root of the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Dayton Post said.

A trooper was on routine patrol on Interstate 75 South when he spotted the SUV driving “at an extremely high rate of speed,” Root said. When the trooper caught up to the driver he tried to initiate a traffic stop.

“The vehicle then immediately stopped, exited off here at Neff Road, where it lost control because of its significant speed — we’re estimating at 100 and 115 (mph) when it exited — lost control here and then came off the side of the road and then hit this gentleman’s house,” Root said.

The driver, Miabi Takhsilov, 19, of Dayton, immediately got out of the SUV with his hands up and then laid face-down on the ground and put his hands behind his back, cruiser camera footage shows.

Just one house over, Christy Stover had a run-in with Takhsilov’s passenger, who ran away from the crash.

“It’s just scary,” she said. — STAFF REPORTS
