A Beavercreek store will be open until Friday, but the Miamisburg location will close at 5 p.m. today, store associates said.

Time is running out for people to take advantage of Toys ‘R’ Us going out of business sales.

A Beavercreek store at 2500 N. Fairfield Road will be open until Friday, but the Miamisburg location at 2859 Centerville Road will close today at 5 p.m., store associates said.

All Toys ‘R’ Us and Babies “R” Us stores will be closed by Friday, according to the company.

Toys ‘R’ Us Inc. voluntarily filed for relief under Chapter 11, in September 2017. Toys ‘R’ Us reported it was $5 billion in debt at the time.

At 1:30 p.m. Monday, about 30 shoppers were at the Beavercreek location, where sales are now up to 80 percent off. Half the store was empty and blocked off.

Some shelves in the store were vacant, while others were sprinkled with items or half full. But no shelves were entirely stocked.

The retailer, which started liquidation in March, is also selling the shelves and fixtures used to display products.

Customer Jolanda Bennett stopped at the store after seeing signs on the street for the discounts. The store was out of the outdoor playset she originally stopped in for, but she had about 25 items in her cart.

“I said, ‘Well, 80 percent, let me go gander around and see what I can find for Christmas,’” she said.

The 25 items in her cart were all about $5 except one that she was still debating on purchasing.

“In my mind, it’s less than $5 an item, so I don’t care,” Bennett said.

Dawn Covell was also shopping for gifts. She said normally she would only go into Toys “R” Us once a year, but the sales drove her in.

“I’m finding crazy deals,” Covell said. “I just got a $100 doll that was a collector series for $40.”
